1959 PS-Saddle Tree

1959 PS-Saddle Tree

The patent certificate of 23rd July 1959 with the number 1.091.857 bears the description “Riding Saddle Tree with Plywood Frame“. This is when the original PS saddle tree came into existence.

The core of every saddle is the saddle tree. Its development and advancement are therefore the very focus of every saddle maker. The PS Saddle Tree is a master piece of craftsmanship, requiring more than 1,200 steps to produce. The principal materials are wood and leather.

Since its invention, the PS saddle tree has been produced exclusively by Passier master saddlers in Langenhagen. In order to achieve the highest possible degree of flexibility, several bamboo strips are worked into the saddle tree. The gullet plate consists of a wrought chrome-vanadium alloy making the finished gullet plate very stable on the one hand whilst, on the other hand, the width can easily be adjusted again afterwards. The PS saddle tree convinces by means of its numerous good properties: it is stable, extremely hard-wearing and also easily adjustable in width. Thanks to the saddle tree a Passier saddle can easily be adjusted to fit every horse perfectly – a number of times, if necessary.
